Question: Preventing Grease Buildup on Kitchen CabinetsMarch 20, 20140 found this helpfulI am talking about grease build up on kitchen cabinets. Does anyone know a long term solution to prevent the grease build up in the first place? By madeiracake Answer Was this helpful? YesBy mom-from-missouri March 22, 20140 found this helpfulBest AnswerClean them often. I just evicted filthy renters who left the entire kitchen coated in grease. In the home I live in, I wipe my cabinets down every other day and after being here 8 years, have no grease buildup. It takes me all of 5 minutes. Also check your stove vent – is the vent clogged? If so, that will help with buildup. Also, how much food are you frying?? It isn't healthy to have a lot of fried foods. I only fry about once or twice a week. Sometimes on the stove, and sometimes in the fry daddy, and I make sure the lid stays on. Reply Was this helpful? Yes

Tip: Fight Grease With GreaseBy pho1608 2 found this helpfulDecember 1, 2015Don't spend money on expensive de-greasers and don't inhale toxic ammonia. Take 1 part mineral or vegetable oil to 2 parts baking soda. This makes the perfect cleanser for greasy cupboards. With a little rubbing, this gets even the most gummy build-up. For greasy film on the oven hood, just drop some oil on a paper towel and wipe it clean. This technique is so effective, I now keep a spray bottle with mineral oil to clean the gucky grease. But your solution is one I haven't tried. “Grease on Grease,” really? But my question is, “will this solution work great on glossy or oil painted walls and cabinets?” Thanks Reply Was this helpful? Question: Removing Grease from Kitchen CabinetsNovember 17, 20140 found this helpfulHow do I remove years of grease from cabinets above the stove and also the microwave door above the stove? By Mary A from Norcross, GA Answer Was this helpful? YesBy pjmeyns December 22, 20140 found this helpfulBest AnswerI've used a boss sponge purchased on the internet and some dish soap or any other mild degreaser I have on hand. I mix the solution in a bowl and mildly scrub with the boss sponge, then let the solution sit on the surface for 5 minutes. I scrub again with just water and the grease comes off. On a rental unit I had to scrub twice but it came off easily. The boss sponge is gentle to my wood cabinets also. Reply Was this helpful? Well, there are so many suggestions on how to get grease off of wooden kitchen cabinets, but keep in mind, different solutions will only work for different cabinets. Wooden cabinets is such a broad term. Some may be finished with a varnish, some with a lacquer, some with just a stain or no stain and some older cabinets may have been painted over and over many times. So be careful and make sure you know what your cabinets' finish is made of. Don't just spray 409 on a cherry cabinet that may not have a varnish over it. It may dull or remove the luster. Some of the harsh cleansers may be good for cabinets that have a thick lacquer or varnish because they will just remove the grease, film or residue and nothing else, which is good.

Grease Melting Suds Dish soap, an alkaline-based product, cuts through grease, but so does heat. Fill your sink half full with tap water as hot as you can handle while wearing rubber gloves — hot water helps to break down or melt through built-up grease. Squirt a tablespoon or two of dish soap into the water, and use a sponge with an attached nylon-scouring pad as your grease-killing weapon. Attack the grime in a circular motion, but only for as long as it takes and with enough pressure to remove the stains — and not your cupboards’ finish. Change the water as it cools. Rinse and dry your cabinetry to a shine.

Question: Cleaning Grease on Kitchen CabinetsApril 24, 20130 found this helpfulI’m looking for a good cleaning product to degrease a greasy kitchen. My kitchen cabinets are gooey. By OK Answer Was this helpful? YesBy Frugal Sunnie April 29, 20130 found this helpfulBest AnswerMixing up a solution of 1-1 parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle will clean the residue, and deodorise the area at the same time. Vinegar mixed with water is a wonderful kitchen and bath cleaner that saves you a whopping lot of money, and doesn't have the unwanted chemicals that commercially available cleaning products have. It deodorises, disinfects, kills mould safely (no chemical reaction between mould and bleach releasing into the air as a fume you do not want to be inhaling), and doesn't require rinsing. Question: Cleaning Grease Off Kitchen CabinetsBy beckycollins1977 0 found this helpfulApril 4, 2017What can I use to degrease my old white painted kitchen cabinets? I need something that doesn't take a lot of scrubbing. I'm just to old for that, also I need a recommendation for an oven cleaner with no fumes. Answer Was this helpful? YesBy mom-from-missouri April 5, 20170 found this helpfulFor my cabinets I use Dawn and vinegar in warm water and a rough sponge. Reply Was this helpful? YesAdBy cybergrannie April 9, 20170 found this helpfulI would certainly start with the easiest/simplest solution first. Be sure to only do one door or drawer front at a time and see if you like the results.i usually like to start with a little Dawn/water mixture but you may have already tried that. My favorite is 50/50 vinegar and warm water as it is easy to use and there is no rinsing. i have used warm water with a small amount of ammonia but this requires gloves and room has to be well ventilated. My son loves a product called Simple Green which is good for cutting all kinds of grease.Be sure to be careful if standing on a stool or stepladder and try to do this when you are not alone. Low quality, melamine cabinetry can swell if water gets in at the seams or edges, so the drying process of this cabinetry is as important as the washing. After a rigorous cleaning, wood cabinets are thirsty for a coat of protective oil — relax, it’s not the sticky, staining type that you just fought to remove. A bimonthly coat of drying oil, such as lemon, tung or wood oils perks up and helps preserve oak, pine, maple or other natural cabinets. It also readies them for regular cleaning to dissuade future grease buildup. Use your range-hood’s fan to carry away steam and microscopic cabinet-grabbing grease particles whenever you turn on the stove.
